How do I create a dynamic QR code?

Sign up (or sign in) and confirm your email. In the Dashboard, under “New dynamic QR code”, enter a name (only you see it) and the Destination URL, then click Create dynamic code. You're taken to the code's page, where you can design and download it and later see its scan stats. The Free plan includes 1 dynamic code; Pro includes 50 and Business 500. Every destination is checked against Google's list of unsafe sites and our blocklist. Just need a code that never changes? Static codes are free on the homepage, no account needed.

Free ($0): unlimited static QR codes forever, plus 1 dynamic code with basic scan stats (verified email). - Pro ($7/month or $59/year): 50 dynamic codes you can edit after printing, privacy-friendly scan analytics with CSV export, read-only REST API. - Business ($15/month or $129/year): 500 dynamic codes, bulk creation from CSV, full REST API, priority email support. Payments are handled by Paddle (our Merchant of Record), which adds any VAT or sales tax. You can get a full refund within 14 days, and dynamic codes keep redirecting for 12 months after you cancel. What's the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

A static QR code stores your content (a link, Wi-Fi details, a contact card) directly in the pattern. It's free, needs no account, never expires and works without our servers. It can't be edited or tracked. A dynamic QR code stores a short CandorQR link (for example candorqr.com/r/AbC123x) that redirects to your destination. You can change the destination at any time after printing and see scan statistics. Dynamic codes are part of the Pro ($7/month or $59/year) and Business ($15/month or $129/year) plans.

Do free QR codes expire?

No. Static codes made with CandorQR are free forever, with no scan limits. We have no free trial that switches your codes off later. The Free plan includes 1 dynamic code (confirm your email first); Pro and Business include 50 and 500. If you cancel a paid plan, they keep redirecting for 12 months after your subscription ends, so printed materials don't break overnight.

How do I change where my dynamic QR code points?

Go to Dashboard, open the code with “Edit & stats”, change the Destination URL and click Save changes. Scans go to the new link within about a minute; the printed code stays the same. Every new destination is checked against Google's list of unsafe sites and our blocklist. Link shorteners (like bit.ly) can't be used as destinations.

What scan analytics do you collect?

For dynamic codes we count scans per day, country and device type (mobile, tablet, desktop). We never store IP addresses, don't set cookies on scans and don't build profiles of the people who scan. See them in Dashboard: open a code with “Edit & stats”. You can export the aggregated numbers as CSV from each code's page. Bots and link previewers are not counted.

How do I create many QR codes from a CSV file?

Free static codes: open the Bulk generator, paste a list of URLs or a CSV with name,url columns, and download a ZIP of SVG files. Up to 1,000 rows per batch, generated in your browser. Dynamic codes in bulk are part of the Business plan: Dashboard › Bulk create. Upload a CSV with name,url columns (up to 500 rows per file). You get a results table and a CSV with all short links.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Go to Dashboard › Billing › Cancel subscription. It takes one click (we ask an optional question about why). You keep paid features until the end of the period you paid for. After that, your dynamic codes keep redirecting for 12 months (read-only) and then show an inactive page unless you resubscribe. You'll get a confirmation email.

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment or of a yearly renewal. Use the “Request refund” link in your Paddle receipt, paddle.net, or the contact form. Payments are processed by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, which issues the refund to your original payment method.

How do I upgrade, downgrade or switch to yearly billing?

Go to Dashboard › Billing and pick a plan under “Change plan”. Changes apply immediately and Paddle prorates the price difference automatically. Downgrading from Business to Pro requires 50 or fewer dynamic codes, because Pro includes 50.

Question 11

Where are my invoices, and how do I update my card?

Accepted Answer

Dashboard › Billing › “Invoices & billing details” opens the secure Paddle customer portal, where you can download invoices, update your card and billing details, and add a VAT/tax number. Invoices are issued by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record, and Paddle calculates any sales tax or VAT.

My payment failed. What happens now?

Paddle retries failed payments automatically over several days and we email you. Your codes keep working during this time. Update your card in Dashboard › Billing › Update payment method. If every retry fails, the subscription is canceled and the usual 12-month redirect grace period applies.

Question 13

I can't sign in to my account

Accepted Answer

Sign in on the Log in page with your email and password, or press “Email me a magic link” and open the link we send you. The magic link also works if you forgot your password or never set one. Once signed in, you can set or change your password in Dashboard › Account. No email? Check your spam folder, make sure the address is spelled right and request a new link (older links stop working). Is CandorQR available in my country?

Accepted Answer

The free QR code generator works everywhere, and printed codes keep scanning for everyone. Accounts and paid plans aren't available in a small number of countries and regions where we aren't permitted to do business or where our payment provider, Paddle, doesn't operate. The current list is in section 7 of our Terms of Service. If you see “not available in your region” and think it's a mistake (for example because you're travelling), contact us and we'll look into it.

Question 15

How do I export my data or delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Dashboard › Account lets you download all your data as JSON (account details, codes, aggregated stats, support tickets) and delete your account. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription immediately, deletes your dynamic codes (they stop working at once) and removes your data. This can't be undone.

Question 16

My QR code doesn't scan. What should I check?

Accepted Answer

Contrast: use a dark foreground on a light background. Inverted or pale colors fail on many phones. - Size: print at least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 in); for posters, about one tenth of the scanning distance. - Quiet zone: keep empty margin around the code. - Logo: use error correction H and keep the logo under about 25% of the width. - Content: long text makes dense codes. Use a URL or a dynamic code instead.

My Wi-Fi QR code doesn't connect

Accepted Answer

Check that the network name (SSID) and password match exactly, including capital letters and spaces, and that the security type is right (WPA/WPA2 for most routers). If you changed your Wi-Fi password, create a new code. Static Wi-Fi codes can't be edited. Your Wi-Fi details are never sent to our servers.

How do I report a suspicious QR code?

Use the report form at candorqr.com/report. You can also see where any of our short links goes by adding /preview to it (for example candorqr.com/r/AbC123x/preview). We review reports quickly and disable abusive codes immediately.
